Aloha

Mommy's summer vacation is almost over and boy are we ending it with a bang!  We just got back from spending two weeks in Maui!  We stayed at a condo with Gramma, Auntie Anne, and Uncle Bruce or as I call them "Mama, Aaa, and Br."  Guess who stayed in a condo four floors below us... it was Uncle David and Cousin Andy!  Ken, Ranna, and Joe even showed up during our second week.  I had so much fun entertaining everyone!  I was really well behaved on the airplane trips.  We went on four flights and I was only awake during one take-off.  My behavior after the flights was a whole different story.  Mommy and Daddy say that as soon as the plane landed I started my "terrible twos."

Although, I tried to make it difficult to leave the condo we still went to a lot of fun places while we were in Maui.  We went on a hike through a forest, we saw sharks at the Maui Ocean Center, I learned how delicious root beer floats are, I watched birds on the ground and enjoyed pineapple slices when we went out to eat, and at a luau I discovered macaroni and cheese and I danced along with the hula dancers while putting the dirt from the ground all over my face.

My favorite parts of the day were playing in the condo with the toys Mommy and Daddy rented for me and of course all the swimming!  I swam multiple times a day!  It didn't matter if the sun was shining or the moon was out... I had a blast!  My swim lessons continue to pay off!  I loved swimming in both the pool and the ocean.  I didn't even mind when the waves splashed all over me!

My least favorite part of the day was sleeping.  There were so many people around I just wanted to hang out and entertain everyone all day long... starting from about six in the morning.  At home I sleep until around 8am... Maui is a whole different story.

Gramma thought she was so tricky, sneaking me some ice cream when Mommy wasn't around.  Did she think Mommy wouldn't find out?  That's O.K. Gramma; it was way worth it!

Uncle David and Cousin Andy left the day before we did, but they insisted on staying until I got up from my nap so they could say "good-bye."

The day after we got back from Maui the fun continued at Lily's first birthday party.  I helped Lily break in her new pool while she napped.  When she woke up we got to use the pool together for a little bit and then it was my turn to nap.  With our opposite sleep schedules I'm surprised we ever get to play together.

Happy Fourth of July!

I celebrated my second Fourth of July holiday in style!  First, on July 2, we went to the Folsom Rodeo.  Mommy and Daddy said we could stay as long as I let them... we almost made it through the first event.  Mommy says I was a good girl, I just wanted to walk around everywhere, which made me a little too difficult for a fun evening.

On July 3 we headed to the cabin in Sonora and this time we brought Zak, Sara, Lily, and Bryan.  While we were there I went swimming in the lake and loved it!  My swim lessons sure paid off!  One night at dinner I learned how to say "Bryan."  I was so proud of myself that I couldn't stop screaming and clapping.  I had everyone joining in!  The next morning I remembered how much fun we had at dinner and tried to get everyone screaming and clapping again... it wasn't quite the same... I guess none of them are morning people.

A Very Merry Unbirthday to Me!

Did you know that you have 364 unbirthdays every year? I went all the way down to visit Bubbie in Southern California to celebrate one of mine! Guess how many minutes I slept on the way down... ZERO! We arrived at 10pm and the party was at 11am the next morning! As soon as we arrived Mommy, Daddy, and Bubbie were decorating, shopping, and cooking trying to get the house ready for a Mad Hatter Tea Party. Guess how many minutes I napped before the party started... ZERO! The party was great! So many friends and family came over. I even got to meet my new friend, Allyson who is almost one year old. Her Mommy was my Mommy's college roommate. Bubbie bought a water table for all the kids to play with. Kelsey got so wet, her pants had to go.

Later that night we all went to Cousin Abby's house to celebrate Uncle Chad's birthday. Cousin Abby was so excited to play with me. She did a great job sharing all her toys, even her new balloon. I love balloons, but I call them "bubbles."

While I was visiting Bubbie I got to use her community swimming pool. I love the pool now that I have graduated from swimming lessons. I jump right in and dunk my head under the water. Boy, am I good sleeper after a morning of swimming!

Happy Father's Day!

It was so nice of me to give my Daddy a holiday! We had a wonderful Father's Day at one of our favorite places... Lake Tahoe! I was such a party girl! The first night I decided we needed to stay up until 5 in the morning to play! On Sunday I got to hang out with Haley. She did a good job teaching me how to share. I even got my feet wet in the lake without crying. Look at how brave I am! Can you believe how far I walked into the freezing water?!

Summer Vacation!

My summer vacation is off and running! Bubbie and Grandpa came up to see me. They were here for Grandpa's 60th birthday!! We all went to Hop Sing for a special dinner. Mommy preordered Grandpa CHICKEN egg rolls! Hop Sing had never made chicken egg rolls before, but she knew how much Grandpa wanted to taste their egg rolls and that he would never eat pork... he was totally surprised and ate a ton! I would love to share pictures with you from the dinner, but our computer crashed and we lost all my pictures since the last backup, which (thank goodness) was when I turned 1. I started swim lessons and music class this summer. I love water activities, but I'm not too sure of the big swimming pool. I can't believe Mommy actually dunks my head under the water... how mean! Music class is a lot more to my liking. I love dancing and singing all the time and now I get to take a class devoted to what I love to do!

Happy Birthday!!

I celebrated my first birthday party! Birthday parties are so much fun!! Mommy decorated the inside and outside of the house with a Hawaiian luau theme and Daddy cooked pulled pork. We played games, opened presents, and had cake and ice cream. We even got to see a movie that Bubbie made and I was the star!  Mommy did such a good job teaching me how to blow out my candle for the past month that I started blowing as soon as I saw the lit candle on my cake. You can tell how much fun I had eating my cake by seeing the different outfits I wore that day. There were so many friends and family around to keep me entertained! I was so tired when my party was over that I took a 3 hour nap!

Look at some of the presents I got for my birthday. Don't I look adorable in my new bikini? It goes perfectly with the palm tree swimming pool! I love playing in the water, but boy is it cold!!

Look what else I am doing now! Mommy and Daddy knew it was going to happen soon! This video was taken on Mother's Day. What a wonderful gift! Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!
